Our family at Willow Wind Farms has been farming organically in Eastern Washington for 40+ years. A while ago we decided to try our hand at fruits and berries. We have 35 acres of blueberries now, with an acre of peaches, raspberries, and apricots. a picturesque old apple orchard and walnut tree sits just up the hill from a lovely herb garden. Breezes over the lavender field send a bouquet of fragrance over our beautiful fruit as well any special occasion being celebrated near by. All organic, sweet and perfect.
Our master vintner, Linda Bjork, had been making wines for a number of years when we met. This winery was a challenge she couldn’t refuse! She came with her old faithful crusher, corker, recipes and her loyal Doberman, Rosie. She and I sat down for some wine one afternoon with our darlin’ dogs, Lucy and Rosie, and proceeded to have some “happy hours”. My husband came up, looked at us, started laughing and said “well, well, well if it isn’t the two winey bitches!” There you have it…the die was cast…politically incorrect as it is! We are, and always will be unconventional.
Our wines are made with age old techniques, low chemical input, preferring organic ingredients. We have found limited filtering, slow fermentation and spring water tend to bring out the best characteristics from out fruits and berries. Our wines are ageing very well!
Come by and enjoy some happy hours with us!
